Free Crochet Pattern - Small Long-Legged Kitty

A while back I hosted a crochet-along for a long-legged grumpy cat, with videos and everything. I do also have a pattern for a smaller version, which I love making as a keychain, it's such a fun quick project if you need a gift for someone.

They are so quick and easy to crochet, although the small details can be a bit fiddly to make. So, if you don't enjoy working on small details, you may want to skip this one.

SIZE

12 cm (4 3/4”) from head to toe, when crocheted with DK weight yarn and a 2,50 mm hook.

Tip! You can use the same pattern to make smaller or larger toys by using finer or bulkier yarn. Pick a crochet hook at least a size smaller than suggested on the yarn label, the smaller the better.

DIFFICULTY

2. Beginner - suitable for novice crocheters, includes small details.

  • Use a stitch marker or a piece of yarn to mark the end or the beginning of a round. Move the marker up after completing each round.
  • All stitches are worked into both loops, unless instructed otherwise in the pattern.

Tip! Sew the ears to the head, embroider the eyes and  nose and add any embellishments before you sew the head to the body - this way you can fasten all yarn tails securely with a knot under the head.

Thank you so much for this cute pattern. Very generous of you. Happy Christmas!

So adorable. I am working on a second grumpy cat, as my daughter calls them.
Question about the pattern, when making the body: 9: (dec, sc 2) x 4 = 12
10-12: sc in each stitch = 20. How do I get the 20 sc out of the previous row’s 12 stitches? Thank you!
