TUTORIAL: Finishing a Closed Piece

When making a closed amigurumi piece there will be a little hole left after finishing the last round. Today I will show how to close up that hole nice and neatly by picking up the front loops of all the remaining stitches and pulling the hole tightly closed.

Finish the last round. Cut the yarn, leaving a long yarn tail, and fasten off. Thread the yarn tail onto a yarn needle.

Insert the needle from the center and under the front loop only. Draw the yarn through. Go all around and pick up the front loops of all the remaining stitches onto the yarn.

Grab the yarn and pull until the hole is tightly closed.

Insert the needle through the center and bring the yarn to side of the piece.
